About BNTN
The Brief Therapy Network connects professionals who practise Brief and Narrative Therapy, and supports practice-based evidence through shared training, writing and conversation.
The Network
A network of practitioners
The Brief Therapy Network (BNTN) is a network of professionals interested in Brief & Narrative Therapy. It brings together therapists, trainers and researchers who want practical, cutting-edge information alongside a community of colleagues working in similar ways.
The network's focus is practice-based evidence: attention to what practitioners actually do in the room, and to the narrative therapy principles and practice that inform that work.
Members and visitors can explore training opportunities, interviews with figures in the field, a reading list, reviews, and documents gathered from the network's conference and collective work.
The Brief Therapy Network exists to connect practitioners who share a curiosity about brief and narrative approaches, bringing therapists, trainers, researchers and writers into a common conversation. Rather than presenting therapy as a fixed set of techniques, the network treats practice as something shaped by relationship, language and the stories people bring with them. Members exchange articles, reviews and reflections, and the site gathers reading lists, abstracts and roundtable discussions so that ideas circulating in one practice can travel to others. The spirit is collaborative: an invitation to think alongside colleagues rather than alone.
What holds the network together is an interest in practice-based evidence, an attention to what actually happens in the room and to the knowledge that emerges from clinical work itself. Transcripts, interviews and shared papers offer glimpses of that thinking in motion, showing how dialogical and systemic ideas are contextualised in everyday work. Contributors are invited to let familiar assumptions be both granted and challenged, so that innovation grows from reflection rather than novelty alone. For anyone drawn to brief and narrative therapies, the network offers a place to read, listen, write and connect with others exploring similar questions.

Connecting practice, training and research
BNTN's work sits at the meeting point of clinical practice, training and research. Featured books from the network's circle include Innovations in Narrative Therapy: Connecting practice, training, and research by Jim Duvall (Hincks-Dellcrest Institute) and Laura Béres (Kings University College), and Masters of Narrative and Collaborative Therapies.
Conference materials, collective documents and a time-line map of influences are part of the same effort to keep the field's ideas accessible to practitioners.
